Västerås Travel Center is a new transportation hub for trains, buses, taxis, bikes, and pedestrians in the heart of Västerås, one of Sweden's largest cities.

自2014年以来，韦斯特罗斯交通中心的设计方案就在不断地发展更新，现在已经初具规模，并随城市一起成长，以打造飘逸的大屋顶下、与城市景观融为一体的全新基础设施枢纽。韦斯特罗斯现有的火车站将城市社区截然分隔，而我们希望未来这一新的交通中心能成为动态城市节点及地标，在安全且可持续的环境中连通城市流量。
Through an ongoing design process since 2014, the proposal for Västerås Travel Center has taken shape, grown together with the city and developed over time to create a new infrastructural hub united in one landscape, under one floating roof. The existing rail station bisects the neighborhoods of Västerås rather than linking them together. By linking the neighborhoods of Västerås together, the Travel Center behaves as a dynamic urban node and visual landmark that connects the city's flows in a safe and sustainable environment.

韦斯特罗斯交通中心的屋顶状似一块连续的薄板，其四角轻抬，更好地囊括了多维公共活动与城市空间，使空间更具凝聚感。交通中心的入口就位于起翘的四角之下，开放的形态更便于吸引旅客及参观者。作为对城市已有设施的扩展，这样的屋顶设计既能满足城市的规划需求，又能创造出充满动感的起伏景观，进而与梅拉伦湖相呼应，营造出旖旎的城市风光。
The roof appears as a continuous thin sheet gently lifted at its four corners, collecting multiple layers of the travel center's public programs and urban spaces within a cohesive identity. These four corners create welcoming entrance points, inviting travelers and visitors inside. As a continuous extension of the city's existing structure, the roof adapts to the programmatic needs of the city below, while also producing a rolling landscape above, thus generating magnificent views of Lake Mälaren and the city center.

餐厅、咖啡馆、自行车停放处、零售商店及其他相关设施沿火车、公共汽车和汽车线路展开，从而使公共活动能从交通中心内部一直延续到附近的梅拉伦湖。
Restaurants, cafes, bike parking, retail and other facilities are organized alongside train, bus and car traffic to support the free flow of public life through the building and out towards the city to nearby Lake Mälaren.

交通中心不仅仅是服务于公共交通的基础设施，还将基于当地人流及公众生活的特点，将基础设施这一城市必需品转化为潜在的社交互动平台。
Rather than simply becoming infrastructure for public transportation, the new Västerås Travel Center is shaped by the flow of people and public life, transforming infrastructural necessity into opportunities for social interaction.
